The Atriax team provided engineering design services for a new parking lot. This VAMC site serves one of the largest concentrations of active duty and retired veterans in the United States. Existing site conditions were investigated and documented, a site survey and geotechnical analysis was performed, and a preliminary plan for the site was developed. The design evolved to meet Virginia Stormwater Quality and Quantity Standards and included a hydraulic analysis of the site. The two parking lots provided 88 additional parking stalls, with much of the area consisting of a permeable paver system to treat and retain water on site up to a 10-year storm event.
